Reading this book has inspired me greatly. I was deeply moved reading the poem ‘The Best Day of My Life’  These words resonate in my soul  ‘When I realised that yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come', so today I must celebrate because I’m restored and set free from the past.  A new season has taken over my life and my heart sing of the freedom I have received.  ‘ It is a new season the burden of yesterday diminishes, I am accepted , I am free from denunciation and negativity and the past cannot tarnish my soul. Thank the Lord that He has restored me. This book of poems is truly inspiring. I totally recommend it to all.

An inspirational and intense book ‘Removing the mask’ taught me that it is possible to live the Christian life in a world married with tears and pain. Every poem confirmed for me that the bad experiences must never be allowed to eat up the good and that this is only possible when the love of Christ consumes our soul. I am inspired and encouraged.

Removing the Mask, her selection of poems and writings encapsulates the essences of positivity.  Whilst grounded in everyday experiences, the poems forces the reflective side of our thinking to transport us to past happenings once frequented. These experiences chart memories some of which are sad and painful, however, the balance is recaptured in the equally uplifting passages which provide both empowerment and positivity for the reader.

Embedded in the book, albeit not explicitly expressed, are biblical references that align itself to the Words written in the Bible that are spoken over our lives. The book aims to challenge the reader to explore how our experiences can affect how we process things and how a lack of confidence can debilitate our sense of achievements, purpose and worth.  The book does not seek to merely offer the solutions, but instead gently leads one to examine one’s own questions relating to that which has been raised in the book and process the conclusion one arrives at.

In this inspiring book 'Removing The Mask', Havelle  discusses some fundamental truth of how some of our experiences  can sabotage our destiny if we do not understand how to process these experiences.  I was quite fascinated by the example of the elephant. She said ‘The elephant’s mind has now been conformed to living in a confined environment, so trying to escape is not an option. The elephant she said will not go beyond the end of the original place. It will not try to escape; it will just march around the in circles to the end of the rope and then return to the original place. This is truly a revelation to me.  

 'Removing the Mask’ is a powerful and inspiring book of heartfelt poetry that forces the reader to reflect on his own experiences. Each poem draws on the author's own experiences - pointing to how past experiences can debilitate, discourage and demoralize us. On the flip side, the Author shows how through God's grace our past disappointments and failures, do not have to dictate our future. Instead, they can strengthen, buildup, and bolster our resolve to ‘remove the masks’ and ‘rise into our destiny!
